Firm History

In 1976, Rian Yaffe founded the company and continues to lead the firm both as one of the Senior Consultants and as the Chairman and CEO.

His son, Alexander Yaffe, joined the company six years ago and is the President and Chief Operating Officer. Over the years, the company has grown, but it has stayed true to its fundamental values of integrity, accountability, and independence. It has continued to focus on offering personalized governance services to non-profit organizations, especially healthcare and higher education.

We have developed a unique and personal process to address the regulatory compliance issues of executive compensation. This process utilizes customized regional and national survey data, and complies with all IRS and other requirements for independence, accountability, disclosure and documentation. Consequently, executives are compensated competitively and trustees can be secure in knowing that all regulatory requirements are met.

We are privately owned and all of our shareholders work for the company. We answer only to our clients and ourselves. This independence allows us to strive to do only that which is in the best interest of our clients. All of our services are performed on behalf of the board and its leadership. We are compensated for our time and expertise on a fee for service basis. We do not sell any products needed to implement our recommended programs. Our compensation is never related to our recommendation. In this way, clients can be assured of the integrity of our service.
