Stephen L. Abbott
Steve Abbott joined Yaffe & Company in 2010 as a Senior Consultant. He is the retired first President and CEO of Cape Cod Healthcare, which was formed from the merger of Cape Cod Hospital, Falmouth Hospital, and the VNA of Cape Cod. Under his leadership, the hospital received numerous awards, including being named as one of the Top 100 Hospitals in the country and one of America’s 50 Exceptional Hospitals by Consumers Digest. In addition, the facility received patient satisfaction scores in the 90th percentile nationally.
Steve has also held CEO positions at Battle Creek Health System in Michigan and Community Hospital of Anderson in Indiana. Prior to becoming CEO, he was the V.P. Operations at Methodist Hospital of Indiana, Inc. Currently Steve serves on the Board of Directors of Cape Cod Cooperative Bank, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Cape Cod and the Islands, the Cultural Center of Cape Cod, and the Cape Cod Times Needy Fund.
Steve earned his BA in Economics from Colgate University and an MBA in Health Care Administration from George Washington University.
He and his wife reside in Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
